Russell is the greatest place to grow up. All my fathers side of the family were born there for the last century. Grammas place was straight across the street from the front doors of MPIC. Every one knew everyone and a closeness that will never fade. I have been gone since "63 and visited often .Old friends like the Chuckrees welcome me back like it was yesterday. Fond memories and I would like to live there again amongst my friends.Email me and we can chat.

My mother Gladys Chuchmuch came from this area. Also, my aunty Lena married Walter Derlago. I also believe my grandmother's maiden name was Sidoryk.
On Saturday, May 12th, all descendants of Annie and Nicholas Chuchmuch are having the first family reunion in Toronto, Ontario. Vernice Pelechaty is the hostess and hopefully, it will be attended by many.

My parents, Fred & Doris Derbowka settled in Russell in 1950 just 1 mile north of Brightside school. I lived in Russell till 1955 then moved to Winnipeg to get employment there. My brother Bill still lives with his family on the same farm my parents purchased in 1950. I still visit the town often and enjoy the happy past I shared with the people there in the days past.
